Nigeria: Archbishop Supports FG, Boko Haram Talks

Owerri — The Catholic Archbishop of Owerrri, Anthony J.V Obinna has spoken in support of the reported negotiation between the Federal Government and the Boko Haram sect.

Briefing journalists in Owerri yesterday on the September 1st 2012 Odenigbo lecture, said that in as much as the negation would promote love and peace in the country it is not out of place.

He said it is the duty of government at state and federal levels to protect the lives and properties of its citizens and condemned the continued killing of Christians in some part of the country.

He said that the 2012 Odenigbo lecture, titled "The Holy church of Christ: the unity of God and man" would be delivered by Most Revd. Dr. Lucious Ugorji, the Catholic Bishop of Umuahia.
