Nigeria: 'We Are Handling Wukari-Takum Road Contract'

Jos — Moulds Nigeria Limited, a construction company, said it is the one handling the Wukari-Takum road contract at the moment and not PW as contained in a story by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

In the story titled 'Gunmen kill expatriate in Taraba', which was published in the Weekly Trust edition of August 25, 2012, NAN said that an Irish man Mr Robin Grey who was killed by gunmen "worked with PW Construction Company, which was handling the Wukari-Takum Road in Taraba."

But the Admin Manager of Moulds Nigeria Mr Abidemi Ajala said "We read with great shock the news of the killing of an Expatriate staff, Robin Grey of PW (Nigeria) Limited in Taraba in the Weekly Trust of Saturday 25th August, 2012 page 6 and we sympathize with Messrs PW whom we have had a close relationship with over the years on the loss.

"However, we regret to note that it was stated in the news that PW is the contractor handling Wukari-Takum Road. This is far from the truth. We wish to state that we, Moulds (Nigeria) Limited, are the contractors handling Wukari-Takum Road at the moment. Most probably, the expatriate was travelling along the road to PW project sites which is definitely not Wukari-Takum Road."
