Angola: Priest Calls for Respect of Election Results

Kuito — The vicar of the São Lourenço Parish attached to the Catholic Church in Kuito, central Bie province, Norberto Félix, Saturday called on leaders of political parties to respect the election results held on 31 August this year.

According to the prelate, the measure aims at strengthening the democracy and good political coexistence among Angolan citizens.

He praised the way the voters behaved during the process, adding that such behavior demonstrates great maturity of the Angolan people.

"The Political leaders should respect the will of the people because they are free to choose their leaders," he said.
