Angola Qualify for World Cup Despite Defeat

Luanda — The Angolan national junior male handball team qualified for the World Cup of handball, to be played in 2013, in Serbia, despite finishing in fourth place of the African Cup held in Abidjan (Cote D'Ivoire).

Coached by Filipe Cruz, the national junior team lost Sunday to Egypt by 22-27, with the already unfavorable 11-13 score, in a match for awarding the bronze medal. Angola has improved one place in relation to the fifth place achieved in the last edition in Libreville, Gabon.

Tunisia is the new African champions, after beating Congo Brazzaville, by 39-22 in the final of the competition closed Sunday.
