Tunisia: Seven Tunisian Smugglers Arrested on Tunisian-Libyan Border

Medenine — The Libyan border guards arrested on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, in the El Hakf locality, 7 Tunisian nationals from Ben Guerdane.

A security source specified that these persons had been arrested while transporting smuggled goods, pointing out that contacts have been established to release them as soon as possible.

At the same time, representatives of the town of Ben Guerdane have been negotiating with their Libyan opposite numbers to free and repatriate these persons.

Following the incident, the Ras Jedir cross border was closed, on Wednesday evening, to ensure the security of Libyan travelers. It is worth pointing out that the situation is stable on the Tunisian-Libyan border.
