The Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM) Wednesday said the forthcoming 17th edition of the Association of African Banknotes and Security Documents Printers (AABSDP) conference will be used to create awareness on the proposed currency restructuring by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The AABSDP conference is the largest exhibition and high-level Security print in Africa where industry players and other stakeholders meet to interact and discuss issues in the industry.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer, NSPM, Mr. Ehi Okoyomon, said the conference, which would be held in Nigeria, would centre on the use of cash and its integration with mobile payments.
The conference is to hold in Lagos between September 9th and 12th.
Okoyomon explained: "Following the Federal Government's endorsement of the N5, 000 which has created a lot of controversy, the conference is an opportunity for exchange of knowledge and awareness creation."
He added: "The conference will discuss the best innovations in digital and print security technologies, as well as smart cards and payments solutions. Exploring the power of production process to enhance identity authentication, as well as insights into the future of the cash and new development in security features and substrates will also be discussed."
