Tunisia: Cabinet Meeting Devoted to Mastering Trade Balance

Tunis — A cabinet meeting held, on Friday morning in Tunis, under the chairmanship of caretaker Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali, examined a set of measures aimed to master trade balance.

These measures consist essentially in rationalising imports, re-launch of export pace, lifting of obstacles for the access to new markets and boosting the presence of Tunisia on the traditional market indicates a communiqué of the Prime Ministry.

A technical committee will meet early next week to fix the practical measures to materialise the decision to be adopted in this field.

The meeting also examined the file of foreign trade and the prospects of its development until late 2012.

A report was presented in the meeting on the main results of the trade sector until late August 2012 as well as the forecasts related to the development of the trade balance and trade exchanges during the current year.

Proposals aiming to master the trade deficit to import and export were also examined.
