Liberia: UNMIL Journalist Confesses

As she apparently tries to avoid her trial on theft charges, UNMIL Radio announcer and journalist Sharon Vincent Avorklya has requested her lawyers to inform the court about her willingness to settle the matter outside the court

Speaking to the New Democrat, prosecutors said she has confessed to charges that she sold a parcel of land to one Mr. Joseph Robert Mensah, a former director of the UNMIL radio, for US$15,000 and converted the amount to her own use. A relative who now claims the land took her to court.
