With a total of 29 medals won at the London Paralympic Games, Team South Africa finished one medal shy of their haul in Beijing and 11 short of the target set by the South African Sports Confederation & Olympic Committee (Sascoc). However, there was plenty to celebrate.
The number of gold medals won dropped significantly, but few could have predicted the massive rise in standards at this year's Games.
