Sierra Leone: Charles Margai Endorsed

As part of the agreement reached between erstwhile leader of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change PMDC, Charles Francis Margai, and some defunct PMDC members of the party, Margai was on Friday re-elected by members of his party as their presidential flag bearer in the November 17 elections at a one day delegates' conference held in Freetown.

While accepting his nomination, Margai expressed his pleasure at the reelection to lead the party to the November polls after series of political disputes adding that the PMDC decided to support the ruling All Peoples Congress APC during the 2007 presidential runoff election to bridge the political, tribal and regional gaps that existed over the years.
