Let me draw your columnist Mallam Mohammad Qaddam Sidq Isa's attention to his views on tolerance as contained in his write-up of penultimate Friday:" tolerance simply means the ability to contain our differences within the ambit of logic, reasoning and civilized engagement in objective argument based on reasons and facts". He stated further: "so it does not in any way mean to overlook or keep silent over what one believes to be wrong". This, I must confess, is beautiful. In fact, it instilled the desire to write this piece in me. However, tolerance goes beyond logic and reasoning. Tolerance is an emotional challenge which requires a show of emotional competence.
