Angola: 144 Cases of Domestic Violence Recorded in Cunene

Ondjiva — A total of 144 new cases of domestic violence were reported from January to August this year by the southern Cunene province's department of the Ministry of Family and Women Promotion, Angop learned Monday here. According to the provincial director, Rosa Gaudencio, the above cases indicate a rise of five cases as compared to the previous period.

According to the official, the cases list breach of support regulation, physical and moral offence, eviction, desertion, denial of paternity and others, 95 of which have been settled, whereas another 21 were forwarded to the Attorney's Office. Of the above number, 27 went pending and four referred to the Criminal Investigation Department in view of their nature.
