Sudan: China Shandong Group Embarks On Preparation of Cotton Industries' City At Gezira State in an Area of 20 Square Kilometers

Wad Medani — The China's Shandong Group has embarked on preparation of integrated scheme for establishment of cotton industries' city at Gezira State in area of 20 square Kilometers.

This came when the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resources at Gezira State Engineer Abdallah Mohamed Osman met his office Tuesday with the Director General of China's Shandong Group Mr. Guang-Hui Cheng where they reviewed development of the memo of understanding signed between the state and the group for establishment of a city for cotton industries at the state in an area of 20 square kilometers comprises factories for spinning, weaving, gins and ready-made cloths besides entering into partnerships for cotton cultivation in the state.

The minister underlined readiness of the state to implement the memo of understanding, explaining that the establishment of cotton industries city will contribute to mobilization of wide range of sectors at the state as well as absorption of valuable numbers of national labour. The meeting underscored preparation of integrated map for establishment of the industrial city by a Chinese export during the coming period.
