Kenya: Private Schools Closed After Union Pressure

PRIVATE schools in Isiolo were yesterday closed following pressure by the Kenya National Union of Teachers. Hundreds of students from private schools were sent home after the union warned that it will storm the schools and destroy property.

Isiolo Knut branch officials led by executive secretary Dadhe Boru and chairman Githuci Mutunga went round private schools to check whether they had obeyed the orders.
