Cameroon: improving Health Through Performance

Cameroonians do not benefit from their investments as far as health services are concerned. Despite efforts by government, the public does not benefit totally from healthcare and even good quality treatment. It is in this light that a one-day forum on Performance-based Financing (PBF) opened in Yaounde yesterday September 13.

Speaking during the opening, the Secretary of Sate in the Ministry of Public Health in charge of Epidemics and Endemics, Alim Hayatou reiterated government's commitment in reinforcing the national financing system through the appropriation of the PBF approach. Alim Hayaotu called on all actors to redouble efforts in order to ensure progress and to improve on the health of the public.
