Rwanda: MTN Clients Receive More Prizes

It's only a matter of days till the next lucky winner receives the third and last MTN car prize in the ongoing "Sharama" promotion. Several MTN subscribers also received prizes from the telecom giant on Wednesday. Prizes won at the event that took place at the MTN Center included motorcycles, bicycles, mattresses, mobile phones, laptops and cash prizes of up to Rwf 500,000.

Atraco (- Association of Transport Companies) employee, Damien Rugwizangoga, from Kibungo district received a motorcycle.

Emmanuel Nsazimana, of Kicukiro district, and Hisham Mahoro, a student at Rwanda Tourism University College (RTUC), Rubavu branch, walked away with a motorcycle and a laptop respectively.

"As a guide with Atraco, this motorcycle will help me get some extra income, hence supplementing my monthly pay," said Rugwizangoga.

The 62-year-old resident of Ngoma Sector could not tell exactly how many texts he sent to MTN before he won the prize.

"As this is my first motorcycle, I can't tell you how happy it makes me to be a winner. I was worried that this draw would end without me wining a prize," he said.

Mahoro said the laptop will help him with his studies. The 3rd year Business student explained that research would be so much easier especially since he was also given a modem and free internet subscription for a month.

MTN says the draw has so far rewarded more than 10,500 clients.

Jean Claude Gaga, MTN's Mobile Money Sales Manager, said that the company will continue to come up with more promotions.
