Angola: Sumbe Hosts Fifth Edition of Palanquinhas Cup

Sumbe — At least 32 teams of Sumbe city, central Kwanza Sul province, will compete on Saturday and Sunday in the 5th edition of the children football tournament dubbed "Taça Palanquinhas Supercuia".

The event, organized by the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), counts on the participation of children aged between 8 and 12 and it will take place at Hoji-ya-Henda stadium.

According to a member of the organizers, Ascenso Mavita, the tournament aims to spread football in the region and instill in participants the spirit of team and Fair Play. The teams will be divided into eight groups. The winner of Kwanza Sul province will qualify for the final phase of the tournament, to take place in Luanda. The tournament is parto f the celebrations of national hero's day, António Agostinho Neto, being marked on September 17.
