French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius arrives in Cairo on Monday 17/9/2012 on a two-day visit to Egypt. He is expected to meet President Dr. Mohamed Morsi on Tuesday 18/9/2012.
Fabius is also expected to hold expanded talks with Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr over regional and international issues topped with the Syrian crisis. The talks will also take up opportunities for settling Middle East problems peacefully as well as the situation in the Gulf area and files of relations between the two countries.
Fabius will assert during his visit to Cairo this week his country's support for the democratic transition in Egypt, said the French embassy here on Saturday.
He will discuss, in a meeting with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, bilateral ties along with the regional issues with a special focus on the Syrian crisis, said the diplomatic mission in a statement.
The top diplomat will also have talks with Foreign Minister Kamal Amr and Arab League chief Nabil el-Arabi on the Syria crisis, said the statement.
Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed el-Tayyeb will receive Fabius during the visit, added the statement.
