Jang said his government had received security report that some Fulani mercenaries are planning to launch a major attack on the state and charged the people to brace up and defend their communities against any unwarranted attack.
The governor, who urged the people to be vigilant, added that "if you bring all the policemen in the country to Plateau State, they cannot protect everybody; so we must protect ourselves; we have the constitutional right to protect ourselves, we would no longer allow anybody to come and slaughter us."
He has also alleged conspiracy against the state at the federal level by some people in authority using the crisis in the state to fan ember of hatred against the indigenes by denying them employment and other benefits.
Jang, who was addressing stakeholders in the state, further revealed that some people at the federal level have made it a deliberate policy to discriminate against the state in giving out employment.
"We have noticed a lot of discrimination, especially in terms of employment at the federal level. Some people have decided to make a deliberate policy and action to discriminate against Plateau State. Even when they see you with Plateau State plate number, they want to discriminate against you on the basis of being a Plateau man," he said.
Jang added that his state has never discriminated against anybody or group either on the basis of religion or tribal affiliations, adding that the state is open to all, and people are free to carry out their activities, but added that those who have chosen to make it their home must respect the tradition and custom of their hosts.
"All those living in the state have the constitutional right to contest for any elective position from the Councilor level to any highest elective position of their choice. In the history of Plateau State, we have never attacked anybody but have been under constant attack by people outside the state. Whenever they attack, they are always the first to make noise to get people to sympathise with them. It is like a case of somebody holding you to the ground and crying for help."
He also condemned the divide and rule approach used to invite people of the state to the Presidential Villa over the crisis in the state, adding that a situation whereby the Berom and the muslims were invited separately was not the best for the state.

HABA BABA JANG! WHEN HAS THE BEROM MAN LEARNT TO ACCOMMODATE OTHER TRIBES? IT WAS NO NEWS THAT YOU EMPLOYED ABOUT 500 WORKERS IN PLATEAU STATE AND MORE THAN 300 WERE BEROMS, WHERE IS THE LACK OF DISCRIMINATION HERE? IS IT THAT THE HAUSA/FULANI AND THE REST MUST LEARN TO DRINK LOCAL OR PROCESSED BREWED BEAR WITH THE INSATIABLE APPETITE OF THE BEROM MAN TO QUALIFY? OR IS IT THAT THE HAUSA/FULANI AND THE REST MUST CONVERT TO THE ATHEISTIC TRADITION OF THE BEROM TO BE ACCOMMODATED IN THE PLATEAU COS MOST BEROMS ARE NOT CHRISTAINS? OR IS IT THAT THE HAUSA/ FULANI AND THE REST MUST REVERT TO THE EXISTENCE OF THE BEROM MAN WITH UTMOST NUDITY TO QUALIFY? …”but added that those who have chosen to make it their home must respect the tradition and custom of their hosts” THE PEOPLE YOU DENIED EMPLOYMENT WERE PART AND PARCEL OF THE PLATEAU PREDOMINANTLY CHRISTAINS. THEN HOW DO YOU EXPECT THESE PEOPLE AND THE HAUSA/ FULANI TO RESPECT YOUR CULTURE IN ORDER TO BE ACCOMMODATED IN THE PLATEAU? “….It is like a case of somebody holding you to the ground and crying for help." THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE BEROM MAN IS DOING TO ALL THAT ARE NON BEROMS IN THE PLATEAU AND ALWAYS THE FIRST TO COMPLAIN, SO WHO IS DISCRIMINATING THE BEROM AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL? EVIDENTLY! NOT THE HAUSA FULANIS. IT IS TIME IN MY OPINION THAT THE BEROM MAN BRACE UP AND LEARN TO MINGLE AND TINGLE AND ACCOMMODATE ALL IRRESPECTIVE OF RELIGION, CULTURE, TRADITION, CREED OR WHATEVER FOR PEACE TO REGN IN OUR PLATEAU (THE HOME OF PEACE AND TOURISM). EQUALLY, IT IS IMPERATIVE FOR THE BEROM MAN TO KNOW THAT THERE IS NO WHERE IN THE WORLD THAT ONE IS FORCED TO ACCEPT TRADITION AND CULTURE OF A PEOPLE BEFORE ONE CAN LIVE IN PEACE. WE ARE NOW IN THE ERA OF ACCULTURATION, WHERE ETHNOCENTRICISM IS GRADUALLY AND CONSTANTLY REPLACED WITH COSMOPOLITANITY TO ACCOMMODATE ALL FOR THE PURPOSE OF PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE.
