Gambia: 10-Year Jail Term for Drug Dealer

Principal Magistrate Sheriff Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court on Tuesday convicted and sentenced one Ismaila Saidy to pay a fine of D1 million in default to serve 10 years in jail.

The presiding magistrate in addition, imposed a mandatory custodial jail term of 10 years with hard labour in respect of count one. While on count two, the court further imposed a fine of D250, 000.00 in default to serve three years in jail. Both sentences are to run concurrently.
