Angolans Mark National Hero's Day in Zimbabwe

Harare — The Angolan community residing in Zimbabwe is actively participating in the sport activities aimed to celebrate the National Hero's Day, an initiative of the Angolan embassy.

On September 14, it kicked off the first round of four-team tournament aimed to mark the life and deeds of the first and late President of Angola Agostinho Neto, with participation of the teams of Prtuguese Community, Kwadzana Budzer, Chitungwiza and Houghton Park.

With the presence of the Angolan ambassador to Zimbabwe, Pedro Hendrik Vaal Neto, the Angolan Community team lost to Kwadzana Budzer by 5-1, while Chitungwiza beat in penalty Houghton Park by 9-8.

In the final on Saturday, Chitungwiza defeated Kwadzana Budzer by 6-2.

On September 17, the chess and draughts tournaments kicked off and it is expected to be held on September 20 the award hand-over ceremony and a workshop on life and deeds of Agostinho Neto.
