Namibia: Swapo to Pay Up for Defamation

THE Swapo Party has agreed to pay journalist John Grobler N$30 000, as well as his legal costs, as compensation over defamatory statements which had been made about him on the party's website.

Swapo and Grobler had agreed to settle the defamation case which Grobler lodged against the ruling party, Acting Judge Kobus Miller was told in the High Court in Windhoek yesterday.
