PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete has appointed Mr Rished Bade as Deputy Commissioner-General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).

A statement issued in Dar es Salaam by the Chief Secretary, Ombeni Sefue, through the Directorate of Presidential Communications, said the appointment became effective on September 17, this year.

Before the appointment, Mr Bade was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tanzania Mortgage Finance Company Limited. Mr Bade, who has over ten years experience in the banking sector started his career in 1995 with the Bank of Tanzania as Bank Examiner where he worked for five years.

He then joined Akiba Commercial Bank (ACB) in June 2000 as a Credit Manager. A year later, he joined the Barclays Bank as Director of Finance, a position he held for five years before moving to Barclays Bank Uganda. At Barclays Bank Uganda, Bade was the Chief Operating Officer for two years before he was appointed Country Managing Director for Barclays Bank Tanzania in January 2007.

In December 2009 he was appointed Group Chief Finance Officer for Barclays East and West Africa Cluster stationed in Nairobi Kenya, the position he held until he joined Tanzania Mortgage Refinance Company in November 2010.
