At 12a.m. the head of state's convoy came into view. They opened fire on the first and last security vehicles with rocket propelled grenades and bazookas then they continue their assault on the other vehicles in the middle of the convoy. Within thirty minutes everybody in the convoy was dead including head of state Thabo Savimbe. At six am vice head of state Muembe addressed the nation stating that the head of state was dead, killed by rogue elements from the military. We have set up a Military Council of State which I will head with Gen. Keita being my deputy.
