South Africa: Communications Committee Allows SABC Board Member to Make Written Submission

On 18 September 2012, the Portfolio Committee on Communications received presentation from the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Board through its Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson. The Board presentation was in relation to alleged unacceptable behaviour by Advocate Mahlati as a Board member.

Adv Mahlati was also afforded an opportunity to make her presentation in relation to the said allegations.

On its deliberations on the 19 September 2012, the committee resolved that:

Adv Mahlati be given an opportunity to provide a written presentation, and

Upon receipt of her presentation, if needs be the committee will convene a special Committee meeting to further deliberate on the matter.
