Kenya: Ole Metito, Namwamba Appointed to the Cabinet

Ababu Namwamba is now the Minister for Youth and Sports (file photo).

Kajiado South MP Ole Metito has been appointed as the new Internal Security Minister, while Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba appointed as the new Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports in a mini Cabinet reshuffle.

Until his appointment, Mr Ole Metito was the Regional Development assistant minister. He takes over from Defence Minister Yussuf Haji who was acting in the Internal Security docket following the death of George Saitoti in June.

Namwamba replaces Paul Otuoma who has been moved to the Local Government Ministry. Gwasi MP John Mbadi has been appointed Assistant Minister, Office of the Prime Minister while James Gesami has been reinstated as Assistant Minister after he was cleared of corruption charges.
