Angola: Nation to Gain About 600 Meteorological Stations

Luanda — The National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics (Inamet) plans to install about 600 stations all over the country until 2017, so as to improve data gathering, announces its technical director, Francisco Osvaldo Sebastião Neto, Angop has learnt.

The manager said so during the presentation session of the seasonal climatic prevision for the coming six months, adding that the mentioned process is under study, being that the project is currently experienced.

He recognized that Inamte is lacking meteorological observation stations in some parts of the country, adding that the institution has the collaboration of some automatic stations, such as of the sector of agriculture and other ones linked to the management of the hydroelectric centrals and dams.
