Egypt: Antiquities Ministry Bans Religious, Political Activities At Archaeological Sites

Minister of Antiquities Mohamed Ibrahim has banned religious rituals and political activities at archaeological sites.

Those are tourist attractions meant only for visits, he said in a release on Wednesday 19/9/2012.

The Tourism Ministry and travel agencies will be informed of those terms that they should abide by, Ibrahim said.

Violations will be dealt with in accordance with law, he noted.
