Nigeria: FG Targets 1 Million Jobs From Youth Agric Project
By Abdulwasiu Hassan, 21 September 2012
The Federal Government is targeting about 1 million jobs from the Youth Employment in Agriculture Programme (YEAP) before 2015, Minister of Agriculture Akinwumi Adesina has said. Mr Adesina, who said this while declaring the programme open yesterday, said ten thousand young agribusiness entrepreneurs from each state of the federation are expected to benefit from the programme.
He said if each of the beneficiaries from the thirty six states of the federation employs three people each, the number of those employed would have surpassed the target number of jobs.
