Angola: All in Place for Securing Train Circulation

Namibe — The director of Moçamedes Railway Company (CFM), Manuel Kandakanda, said on Friday in Namibe city that the security conditions of goods and passangers are created for the circulation the train.

Speaking to Angop on the fringes of the departure of the inaugural commercial train from Namibe city to the localities of Lubango and Menongue, the official also said that besides the railway security unit, CFM will also be assisted by the National Police Strategic Objectives Protection Unit (UPOE) in partnership with Tax Police.

He appealed to population for civic behaviour so as to conserve this means of transport.

The first commercial train of the Moçamedes Railway Company (CFM) left this Friday Namibe city for Menongue city in the eastern Kuando Kubango province, carrying on board various passengers, after being stopped for two decades due to the destruction of the railways by the armed conflict.
