Nigeria: D'Banj, Psquare, Cabo Snoop, Sarkodie Contend for MOBO Awards

Nigeria's D'Banj and PSquare have been nominated for Best African Act category of the 17th edition of the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards. They are contending with Cabo Snoop, Sarkodie Amadou & Mariam, Camp Mulla, Fally Ipupa, The Very Best, Fatoumata Diawara and Spoek Mathambo.

Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé and Rihanna have also been nominated for Best Internal Act category Announcing the nominees, Kanya King MBE, MOBO founder said, "We are very excited about the nominations for the 17th MOBO Awards. "The talent this year has been truly exceptional and we are so proud to be flying the flag for urban music which has again been dominating the charts in the past MOBO Music year." The ceremony is slated for November as fans vote for their favourite stars.
