Angola: Private Radio Pays Homage to Renowned Late Musician André Mingas

Luanda — A silver salver was handed over last Friday to Ayhame Mingas, son of the renowned late Angolan musician André Mingas, by the private Luanda Antena Comercial (LAC) radio station, as a homage to his father's contribution to Angolan culture.

The ceremony that took place in Atlântico Cinema, in Luanda, was held in the ambit of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of LAC.

The singer and songwriter André Mingas passed away in 2011, victim of a prolonged illness.

"I am very touched by the homage paid to my father (...)", he said.

On his turn, the elder brother of the late musician, Rui Mingas, said he was happy about the fact that the Luanda dwellers were

remembering his brother's songs and expressed his conviction that "the youth of today and adults of tomorrow will certainly dignify the elders of today".
