Nigeria: Jonathan Leads Delegation to 67th UN General Assembly

President of the 67th United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Vuk Jeremic of Serbia has announced that he has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan's proposed theme, "Bringing about adjustment or settlement of international disputes or situations by peaceful means" as the overarching theme for the General Assembly's work over the next 12 months.

This is coming as president Jonathan will today jet of the country with Nigeria's delegation to the 67th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.

Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati in a statement yesterday noted that the UN Assembly President announced the adoption of Jonathan's theme at its opening on Tuesday, having consulted widely on the matter.

The president had last year set the agenda for this year's Assembly when he proposed the theme "Peaceful resolution of international disputes", in his statement to the 66th General Assembly last year.
