Egypt: Defense Minister Meets Commander of U.S. Central Command

Minister of Defense and Military Production Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi on Saturday 22/9/2012 met with visiting commander of U.S. Central Command Gen. James Mattis and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting discussed latest developments in the region and ways of boosting military ties and cooperation between Egypt and the U.S. Mattis congratulated Sisi on his new post as defense minister.

Mattis also met Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Sedki Sobhi and congratulated him as well on his new post. They discussed a number of issues concerning cooperation and joint military exercises. A number of Egyptian Armed Forces leaders as well as US ambassador in Cairo attended the meeting
