The World Health Organization yesterday downplayed new cases of poliomyelitis reported in some northern states, saying they did not mean Nigeria has failed bid to halt transmission of wild polio virus.
Dr. David Okello, until now country representative of the WHO in Nigeria, said, "the numbers are not an indication of failure."
