Garowe, Somalia — A delegation from Turkey met with Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole in Garowe, the capital of Puntland state of Somalia, on Monday, Garowe Online reports.
Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA)'s Head of East Africa Operations Mustafa Hashimi Pulat accompanied by other officials met with President Farole and Puntland ministers on Monday.
This is the second visit to Puntland by TIKA officials this year who pledged to conduct development projects across Puntland.
The dignitaries discussed the acceleration of development projects in Puntland.
TIKA has promised to build airports, roads, and upgrade education and health facilities in Puntland.
TIKA officials landed in Bosasso Friday afternoon and had examined upcoming project sites in the port city. The Turkish officials are scheduled to visit Galkayo after they complete the Garowe tour.
TIKA has conducted many development projects in Mogadishu which has made it the frontrunner agency in rebuilding Mogadishu.
