Nigeria: U-17 Regional Cricket - South East Champs Today

The South East zone Regional U-17 Cricket Championship will take today in Awka after the event was rescheduled. The championship organized by the Nigeria Cricket Federation in zones was held from September 29-30, 2012 in three centres - Kaduna, Benin and Ibadan. But that of the South East with Awka as centre was rescheduled for today.

At the Kaduna centre, Kaduna defeated Sokoto in the first match by 102 runs. Kaduna won the toss and opted to bat first. The Kaduna team scored a total of 152 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Isaac Okpe was the star batsman with 41runs in 14 overs ably supported by Samson Simon with 33 not out. Joel Joseph was ruthless with the bat with his 28 runs in 2 overs.
