Nigeria: Gov's Wife Seeks Stiffer Penalty Against Reckless Drivers

Ado-Ekiti — Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Bisi Fayemi, yesterday lamented over what she described as the increase in accidents involving children, and sought stiffer penalty for any driver who knocks down a child.

Speaking at the Children's Ward of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, while presenting gifts to children admitted in the ward, Mrs Fayemi lamented over the large number of children on admission at the hospital and other health institutions across the state, calling on mothers to be vigilant and care for their children.
