Tanzania: Primary Courts Lack Enough Personnel

PRIMARY court magistrates in the country will from now on be forced to do the typing of court proceedings and rulings due to a serious shortage of personnel.

Apart from secretaries, the courts also have shortages of magistrates and drivers as well as dilapidated infrastructures. Principal Judge Fakhih Jundu told a section of reporters at the High Court in Dar es Salaam that in order to make sure cases are disposed off in time, magistrates should prepare and type rulings to avoid unnecessary delays.
