Nigeria: Suspect Indicts Zamfara Policemen in Telecom Cables Theft

Birnin Kebbi — A suspected vandal, who was arrested while removing telecommunication cables in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, has indicted four serving policemen including an inspector in the state, Daily Trust gathered. It was gathered that the 40 year-old vandal was caught while exhuming the underground cables in Gusau around 1.am on Saturday, by a detachment of policemen who were on patrol.

Our reporter gathered that the suspected vandal succeeded in removing the cable, but was caught while trying to draw it out of the ground before cutting it.
