Zambia: FRA Pays Out K100 Billion for Over 864,000 Tonnes Maize

THE Food Reserve Agency (FRA) has bought more than 864,000 tonnes of maize as at September 28 in the current marketing season for which it had so far paid K100 billion from a total K1.1 trillion needed to pay for all the supplied maize.

FRA board chairperson Guy Robinson said in a statement in Lusaka yesterday that the agency regretted the delay in paying farmers for the 2012/2013 farming season but assured that it would start making more payments this week.
