South Africa: President Zuma Announces New Ministerial Appointments

Pretoria — President Jacob Zuma has announced two new ministerial appointments in his Cabinet.

Naledi Pandor, the Minister of Science and Technology, has been appointed as Minister of Home Affairs and Derek Hanekom, the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology takes over as Minister of Science and Technology.

"I congratulate Ms Pandor and Mr Hanekom on their appointments. They have distinguished themselves in their current portfolios and I am confident that they will do exceptionally well in their new responsibilities as well. I wish them all the best," President Zuma said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Minister of Science and Technology will be sworn in at the Union Buildings on Thursday.
