Somalia: UK International Development Secretary Arrives in Mogadishu

Mogadishu — A high-level delegation led British international development secretary Justine Greening has on Wednesday arrived in Somalia's capital Mogadishu, for the first since she took UK development reins.

Justine Greening arrived at the seaside airport Wednesday morning, another sign of improving security in the Horn of Africa's developing nation.

Speaking at a joint press conference held at the presidential palace in the capital, Villa Somalia, she told reporters that UK government has offers Somalia's new federal government led by Hassan Sheikh Mohamud for political and economic support.

On the other hand, the Secretary of State for International Development highlighted that UK government welcomes the latest military progress being made by the African Union military forces against Al shabab militants.
