Three Moroccans died as a result of heavy rainfall and flooding over the past two days, MAP reported on Saturday (September 29th).
A 50-year-old woman, her daughter-in-law and a 14-year-old boy were swept away by flash floods Friday in the western region of Safi. The younger woman was rescued, but later died in hospital, AFP reported.
The highway linking Safi with Essaouira was closed to traffic because of the storms. The rain is reportedly unusual for this time of year. Just since Thursday, Agadir saw 20 per cent of its typical rainfall total for the entire year.
