Nigeria: Jonathan Appoints New Service Chiefs

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of new Service Chiefs with the immediate past Chief of Nava Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Ola Sa'ad Ibrahim emerging as the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) while Lt-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika retains his position as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

Jonathan, who announced the appointments Thursday commended the outgoing service chiefs for their meritorious and commendable service to the nation and wishes them well in their future endeavours.

The new military chiefs include: Ibrahim (Kwara) as the CDS; Ihejirika (Abia) as the COAS; while the new additions are the CNS - Rear Admiral D.J. Ezeoba (Delta), and Chief of Air Staff - Air Vice Marshall A.S. Badeh (Adamawa)
