Liberia: Manhunt for Escaped Prisoners

A man hunt is said to be on the way for 21 inmates who broke jail here on Wednesday in the South eastern city of Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, Police Spokesman George Bardue has said.

Mr. Bardue said officers of the Emergency Response Unit or ERU and Police Support Unit or PSU of the Liberia National Police were now in pursuit of the escapees many of whom are convicted armed robbers. In a chart with this paper via mobile phone yesterday, Bardue confirmed that 21 criminals allegedly broke jail on Wednesday at the Zwedru Correction Palace.
