Tunisia: Islamist Imprisoned Over U.S. Embassy Attack

A Tunisian prosecutor on Wednesday (October 3rd) ordered the imprisonment of Seif Allah Ben Hassine (aka Abou Ayoub) in connection with the recent attack on the US embassy in Tunis, Tunisie Numerique reported.

One of the top leaders of the Tunisian branch of Ansar al-Sharia, Abou Ayoub was arrested a few days ago in the capital.

On September 24th, security services arrested another Ansar al-Sharia leader, Hassen Brik. As head of preaching for the group, Brik is the top deputy to Ansar al-Sharia leader Seif Allah Ben Hassine (aka Abou Iyadh). Abou Iyadh is also wanted for questioning by Tunisian police over the September 14th embassy attack that left four dead and scores wounded.
