Egypt: Investing Sinai Oil Is National Security - Petroleum Minister

Minister of Petroleum Eng. Osama Kamal said on Friday 05/10/2012 that the petroleum sector's contribution to the national plan for Sinai reconstruction and implementation of the integrated strategic vision for the development of Sinai at the levels of petroleum, gas and metallurgical industries after October victory comes within the framework of the higher national interests, as this wealth is a national security issue.

He pointed out that Sinai now enjoys a complete petroleum infrastructure, stressing the existence of giant gas pipelines that serve all cities in Sinai.

Kamal noted that the gas pipelines in Sinai encourage the establishment of plants there.
