Egypt: Minister - Egp 70 Million Investments to Support Sinai Electricity

The electricity sector completed preparations for a plan to increase generated electricity for Sinai by 1,675 MW to support the national power grid there.

The projects include supplying the Oyoun Musa, Arish and Sharm El-Sheikh power generation plants with new units.

The sector has also started putting into effect a plan to support Sinai electricity distribution grid with investments worth of EGP 70 million during this year, Electricity Minister Mahmoud Balbaa announced after he received a report from Chairman of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company Gaber El-Desouky about projects being carried out to develop Sinai.
