Nigeria: Power Supply May Drop By 650 Mega Watts - SPDC

Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) has warned that power supply in the country may drop by 650 mega watts if it goes ahead to shut down the Afam Power Station in Rivers State and Ibom Power Station in Akwa Ibom State, due to short supply of gas from the Okoloma Gas Plant.

Briefing journalists yesterday in Port Harcourt, vice president, Health Safety and Environment of SPDC, Mr. Tony Attah, said if the TNP is not reopened immediately, there would be serious gas shortage to power the two power stations which may lead to its shutdown.
